From well to bottle – state-of-the-art treatment technology for the highest water quality
The objective
Planning and delivery of a water treatment plant for a major table and soda water producer in Southeast Asia.
The treatment of natural mineral water must comply with the options permitted under the Mineral and Table Water Ordinance. The use of suitable, modern filter media allows us to process this high-quality raw material in a targeted and gentle manner. In addition to addressing standard components such as iron, manganese, and sulfur, we are increasingly focusing on trace elements like arsenic, uranium, fluoride, radium, and radioactivity. However, treatment using approved methods is only one part of the challenge. The technical design and practical implementation are equally critical to ensure that the water does not undergo any unintended or unauthorized changes. A key example is microbiological quality, which must not deteriorate at any point throughout the extraction, treatment, and storage process. Natural purity must be strictly maintained or ensured through appropriate measures.
Typical processes in this field:
Desulfurization, iron removal, manganese removal, filtration, fluoride removal, water recycling for cleaning water, UV irradiation, arsenic removal.
Strict customer requirements for water quality regarding mineralization and naturalness. No use of chemicals such as chlorine or chlorine dioxide for drinking water disinfection. Low internal water consumption, with the system also required to provide treated water for the production facility, bottle washing machine, hot water station, and a steam boiler. Permissible wastewater volume and mineral load limited by authorities. The raw water to be treated has an average temperature of 28 °C and comes from several wells with fluctuating volumes. No bromate formation.
